A retaining wall near Kohima Secretariat collapsed, damaging vehicles and temporarily blocking access to key government offices.

KOHIMA — A portion of the retaining wall at the State Data Collection Centre and Laboratory under the Water Resources Department near Nagaland Civil Secretariat in Kohima collapsed on Friday morning, damaging a Mahindra Bolero vehicle and a two-wheeler parked in the compound.
No human casualties were reported, and no private homes or individual properties were affected by the incident.
According to official sources, the collapse led to a temporary blockade of the road leading to the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare and the offices of the Home Guards, Civil Defence, and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).

The impact also damaged the compound wall of the Space Education and Innovation Hub (SEIH) under the Department of Science and Technology.
The Water Resources Department deployed an excavator to clear the debris and as of the time of reporting, the road has been cleared and reopened for public use.
