GPRN/NSCN (U) appeals to Yimkhiung and Tikhir tribes to exercise restraint and preserve peace and Naga brotherhood.
DIMAPUR — The Kilonser of the Ministry of Kilo Affairs of the GPRN/NSCN (Unification), Huvito Yepthomi, has expressed shock and dismay over the reported incident involving the Yimkhiung and Tikhir tribes, which allegedly resulted in the destruction of properties belonging to both communities and the loss of one life.
In a press release, Yepthomi described the incident as deeply regrettable and unwarranted, particularly at a time when the Naga people are striving for peace and an honourable, lasting settlement of the Indo-Naga political issue.
He appealed to both tribes and their respective communities to exercise restraint, refrain from retaliatory actions and avoid any conduct that could further escalate tensions.

He urged all concerned to act with maturity, prudence and a spirit of reconciliation to preserve Naga brotherhood.
Invoking the Christian principle of “Nagaland for Christ”, Yepthomi called on both communities to uphold the values of forgiveness, compassion and peaceful coexistence. He stressed that differences and grievances should be addressed through mutual understanding, constructive dialogue and established customary mechanisms rather than confrontation or violence.
He also appealed to national workers belonging to both tribes to maintain strict neutrality, exercise sound judgment and refrain from actions that could undermine peace or deepen divisions.
Emphasising the importance of impartiality and mutual trust, Yepthomi urged the national workers to uphold unity and integrity while preserving the longstanding bonds of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence between the Yimkhiung and Tikhir tribes.
