Girls dominate top ranks in Manipur Class 12 exams as COHSEM records 92.23 percent overall pass rate this year.

IMPHAL — Girl students outperformed boys among the top ten rank holders across all streams in the Higher Secondary Examination (Class 12) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM), the results of which were declared on Monday.
A total of 31,259 students appeared for the examinations held in February–March, of whom 28,829 passed. This includes 14,165 first division, 12,879 second division, and 1,763 third division candidates.
Congratulating the students, Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand described the results as a proud moment. In a post on X, he highlighted the achievements of girl students, noting their strong presence among top rank holders in Science, Arts and Commerce streams.
The overall pass percentage stood at 92.23%, slightly lower than last year’s 94%. Among the streams, Science recorded the highest pass percentage at 93.28%, followed by Arts at 89.87% and Commerce at 82.57%.
Government institutions registered a pass percentage of 86.91%, while non-government institutions recorded 94.54%. District-wise, Noney topped with 98.93%, followed by Thoubal at 97.65%, while Jiribam recorded the lowest at 80.08%.
