DIMAPUR — Five apex tribe bodies in Nagaland have withdrawn their non-participation in all state government functions and activities following the state Cabinet’s decision to rename the Job Reservation Commission as the Commission for Review of Reservation and to extend its terms of reference beyond job employment.
A press release informed that the decision was taken during a consultative meeting of the 5 Tribes Commission for Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) with the five apex tribe bodies and their frontal units held on Monday at the Sendenyu Biodiversity Education Centre, Nphunji, in Tseminyu district.
The meeting appreciated the state Cabinet for honouring the representation submitted by the 5 Tribes CoRRP to the government on September 24.
It further affirmed that both the 5 Tribes CoRRP and the apex tribe bodies are ready to extend full cooperation to the Commission “as and when asked for.”
