DIMAPUR — The 5 Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy (CoRRP) has welcomed the state government’s notification issued on September 22 constituting a Reservation Commission but said it has deviated from earlier agreements.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, the committee stated that while it “partially welcomes” the notification, it pointed out that the announcement had come more than 100 days after the State Cabinet first agreed in principle to constitute a commission on June 12.
It maintained that the notification, which refers to a “Job Reservation Commission”, has deviated from the agreed points of the June 3 meeting between the state government and the 5 Tribes CoRRP, as well as the State Cabinet announcement of August 6 regarding the setting up of a “Reservation Review Commission.”

The committee urged the state government to rectify the nomenclature to “Reservation Review Commission” and to frame the Terms of Reference in accordance with the June 3 meeting, which had agreed to interlink and review reservation both in jobs and in technical and professional seats.
It added that pending such rectification, its September 20 resolution to go ahead with agitation after September 30 “still stands.”
