DIMAPUR — Nagaland’s political arena is set for a fresh electoral test as voters in Mokokchung’s Koridang constituency choose a new legislator to on April 9 to fill the seat left vacant by the late Imkong L Imchen.
The Election Commission of India on Sunday announced that the by-election to the 28–Koridang (ST) Assembly constituency in Nagaland will be held on April 9, following the demise of veteran legislator Imchen.
As per the election schedule, the gazette notification will be issued on March 16, while the last date for filing nominations is March 23.

Scrutiny of nominations will take place on March 24, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 26.
Polling will be conducted on April 9, while counting of votes is scheduled for May 4. The entire election process is expected to be completed by May 6.
The Commission informed that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) along with Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) will be used in all polling stations to ensure transparency in the voting process.
