Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation condemns damage to road dividers at Tajen Ao road, Dimapur; lodges FIR and demands action under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Urban Council Chairmen Federation (DUCCF) has strongly condemned the destruction of public property, particularly the damage caused to the road dividers and traffic infrastructure within Dimapur.
In a press release, the DUCCF stated that such irresponsible actions not only endanger public safety but also reflect a total disregard for civic responsibility and the rule of law.
The DUCCF informed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been officially lodged at the West Police Station, Dimapur, in connection with this incident. The federation appealed to the West Police Station to promptly receive the complaint and urged the concerned authorities to take swift and firm action.

The federation appealed to the Traffic Police and the West Police Station to thoroughly investigate the matter and ensure that the culprit is identified and held fully accountable. It stated that public property is created and maintained with taxpayers' money for the welfare and safety of all citizens, and any wilful destruction must not go unpunished.

Further, the DUCCF demanded that the accused be booked under the relevant punishable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and other applicable laws governing damage to public property. It added that strict legal action will serve as a deterrent and reinforce respect for public infrastructure.
The federation stated it remains committed to safeguarding public assets and maintaining law and order in the city. It stands firm in its resolve to ensure that justice is delivered and that such incidents are not repeated in the future.
