DPDB meetings in Longleng, Zunheboto, and Meluri discuss infrastructure, education, and development works.

DIMAPUR — District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meetings for the month of October were held in Longleng, Zunheboto, and Meluri on Tuesday, deliberating on infrastructural, administrative, and developmental agendas.
Longleng: In Longleng, the monthly DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of MLA B Bangtick Phom at the DPDB Hall.
According to a DIPR report, the board reviewed the establishment of a blood storage unit and blood bank received from the Medical department, forwarding the proposal to higher authority for consideration and approval.
Electrification and the installation of a new 100 kV distribution transformer at the new district hospital building were also discussed, with the chairman entrusting the medical superintendent to coordinate with the department.
The house decided to organise a departmental tournament from October 29 to the 31st. A proposal for the creation of additional posts in the Police department was also discussed and forwarded to higher authority.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) W Manpai Phom informed the house regarding the visit of the Post-Disaster Needs Assessment Central Team to Longleng on October 7, urging departments to collect assessment data on damaged property.

He requested the Public Works Department (Roads and Bridges), Agri-Allied, and Medical departments to prepare presentations for the governor's visit on October 8. He added that the electoral roll observer will visit the district on October 8 to interact with election officials.
Zunheboto: In Zunheboto, the meeting was held at the DC's conference hall under the chairmanship of DC and Vice Chairman Dharam Raj.
The meeting reviewed action taken on decisions from the previous meeting. The DC informed that the Town Hall has been handed over to Zunheboto Government Higher Secondary School for its use, while the house also discussed the shortage of graduate teachers at the school.
Raj stressed that heads of offices should remain stationed at their respective places of posting and attend to official responsibilities irrespective of whether a meeting is scheduled.
On the proposal to establish a library in memory of former EAC of Satakha, late L Sailo, a brief account of his life was presented by EAC Satakha Imtinungla Longkumer.
Meluri: In Meluri, the monthly meeting was held at the DB's Court, DC office, under the chairmanship of Advisor for Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority and Inland Waterways Z Nyusietho Nyuthe.
Representatives of the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) were asked to provide an update on road works from Akash Bridge towards Akhegwo covering about 16 km.
Members expressed concern over the poor condition of the road. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shelly Katiry stated that the stretch had been inspected by the Road Safety Committee and found to be in poor condition, while the Pochury Hoho also expressed dissatisfaction over the road work.
The meeting discussed a request from the Meluri Sports Association appealing to departments to extend financial contributions towards sports activities.
On administrative matters, the additional deputy commissioner pointed out that the district lacks a strong room ahead of approaching elections, requesting early arrangements.
The chairman urged heads of offices to safeguard departmental offices and requested that ‘no objection certificates’ not be issued for proposals that compromise office premises.
