Dimapur Municipal Council notifies all shopkeepers and business establishment to mandatorily install functional fire extinguishers.

DIMAPUR — As part of safety compliance measures, the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) on Saturday informed that its enforcement team would conduct checking on mandatory installation of fire extinguishers within its jurisdiction.
In an update, DMC stated that several shops and business establishments are operating without proper fire safety equipment.
In the interest of public safety and in compliance with relevant provisions under the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2023, it has directed all shopkeepers, business establishments and commercial entities to ensure that functional fire extinguishers are installed and maintained in their respective premises at all times.
It cautioned that any shop or business found without a functional fire extinguisher during inspection would be penalised as per the rules. It, therefore, directed all shopkeepers and business establishments to take necessary measures immediately to avoid penalties.

Meanwhile, it informed that its Residential Sanitation Fees (RSF) branch has been shifted from the old office at Kalibari road to new DMC office located at the IDAN building, Forest Colony, Dimapur.
In this regard, it has directed all the concerned colony GBs and chairmen to deposit the RSF receipt books at the new office with effect from October 1.
