DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) is undertaking joint initiatives with stakeholders to promote public hygiene and civic responsibility across the city.

As part of this programme, the parking fee collectors engaged under DMC will conduct cleanliness drives every Saturday within their respective designated parking zones.

“This voluntary effort underscores their commitment towards maintaining cleaner public spaces in addition to their regular duties,” the DMC stated in an update.

The councillor in-charge of Public Transport and Parking Lots, DMC, will supervise the systematic maintenance and repainting of parking lines across the streets where fees are collected. This measure is aimed at ensuring organised parking facilities and enhancing overall urban management.

It also informed that the Dimapur District Auto Drivers' Union (DDADU) also resolved to carry out weekly cleanliness drives at the Naga Shopping Arcade (Super Market) area every Saturday in collaboration with DMC.

“The Dimapur Municipal Council appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders in these initiatives and urges citizens to extend their support in maintaining cleanliness and civic discipline for a healthier and more sustainable urban environment,” the release stated.
