Noklak district administration directs citizens to participate in mass social work on July 3.
DIMAPUR — The Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Noklak has issued a circular directing citizens to conduct a district-wide mass social work on July 3 from 6 am onwards.
According to the circular, the initiative is being organised in view of the onset of the monsoon and the need to ensure cleanliness, proper drainage, and preparedness against monsoon-related hazards.
All government departments, educational institutions, NTC, village councils, ward authorities, civil society organisations, student bodies, and the general public have been requested to participate in the social work within their respective jurisdictions.
The activities will include the clearing of drainage and culverts, clearance of roadside vegetation, and removal of silt, debris, and wash materials.

It was mentioned that the executive engineer of PWD (R&B) and ward chairmen will oversee the clearance of roadside drainage. The SDO and junior engineer (Power) will inspect electric poles.
The chief medical officer of the medical department will spray disinfectant and mosquito repellent in required areas. The SDEO, along with school heads, will ensure school surroundings are kept clean and healthy.
The forest ranger and ward authorities will check trees susceptible to storms in and around the settlements. The APRO will handle public announcements.
