Dimapur Municipal Council orders immediate halt to unauthorised construction and illegal activities, warning violators of INR 3,000 fines and action
DIMAPUR — The Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has directed all individuals undertaking unauthorised development activities within its jurisdiction to stop work immediately, warning that violators will face a fine of INR 3,000 in addition to further action under applicable municipal rules.
In a notice, the DMC cited several illegal activities being carried out within the municipal area, which include illegal dumping of construction materials along roadsides, building construction without obtaining a no-objection certificate (NOC) from the council, unauthorised borewell drilling, and construction or reconstruction of buildings without prior approval.
The council directed all individuals concerned and agencies carrying out such activities without prior permission from the competent authority to cease work with immediate effect.
It warned that anyone found violating the order would be liable to pay a fine of INR 3,000 and could also face additional action in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations of the DMC.
