BJP leaders campaign in Wokha Town ahead of the Tsumang B Ward-8 by-election, urging free and fair voting.

WOKHA — The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday held a campaign programme at the VDB Hall in Wokha Town ahead of the forthcoming Wokha Town Council by-election for Tsumang B (Ward-8).
The programme was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Yanthungo Patton, Advisor for Information & Public Relations and Soil & Water Conservation Daochier I Imchen, BJP Nagaland president Benjamin Yepthomi, party leaders and supporters.
Addressing the gathering, Patton urged voters and party workers to uphold the principle of "one man, one vote" and ensure a free and fair election.
He cautioned against financial inducements and appealed to the electorate to vote according to their conscience. He also called upon the district administration and police authorities to ensure a peaceful polling process.
Officially declaring the party candidate, BJP state president Yepthomi encouraged party workers to remain united and strengthen the party in the district.
He noted that despite the Lotha community having only four Assembly seats, it had produced the deputy chief minister, and urged collective efforts to further consolidate its leadership.

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led government, Yepthomi said the party remained committed to implementing welfare schemes for farmers and weaker sections while undertaking major infrastructure projects.
Advisor Imchen emphasised that governance must begin at the grassroots level and described urban local body elections as crucial for strengthening local governance.
He said the party had fielded Mhomo Humtsoe after careful assessment, describing him as a dedicated and committed candidate. Imchen appealed to party supporters to ensure a resounding victory for the BJP.
BJP candidate Humtsoe expressed confidence in the party's prospects, stating that his position had strengthened after securing the party ticket.
He urged voters to exercise their franchise fearlessly and sought adequate security arrangements to ensure smooth polling.
Also addressing the gathering, Dimapur Municipal Council councillor and BJYM Nagaland president V Khekato Awomi urged voters to cast their ballots without fear or influence and refrain from proxy voting.
