Nagaland's Avikali V Sheqi won a Bronze Medal representing India at the 10th Asian Senior Pencak Silat Championship.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland's pencak silat athletes represented India with notable performances at the 10th Asian Senior Pencak Silat Championship, held in Dong Nai City, Vietnam, from July 15 to the 23rd.
Avikali V Sheqi secured a bronze medal after losing to Indonesia in the semi-finals, adding another international accolade to India's tally. An update noted that her achievement continues Nagaland's run at the Asian championships and reflects the growth of pencak silat in the state.
Kevin advanced to the quarter-finals, narrowly missing out on a medal after a spirited campaign against Asia's top competitors.

Nagaland has now produced medal winners in two consecutive Asian Senior Pencak Silat Championships. At the 9th Asian Senior Pencak Silat Championship 2025, Kitenlo K Thono won a silver medal, while Hinokali claimed a bronze Medal for India.
The president and officials of the Nagaland Pencak Silat Association congratulated the Indian Pencak Silat Federation and all participants for their commitment and contribution to India's growing success in international pencak silat.
The association stated that it remains committed to strengthening grassroots development and preparing more athletes from Nagaland to represent India at future continental and world championships.
