Aspirational toilet inaugurated in Mokokchung town

DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner & Chief Executive Officer of Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC), Atsungba Walling, inaugurated an aspirational toilet constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 (SBM U 2.0) at Dilong ward in Mokokchung town on September 29.

The inaugural programme was attended by MMC chairperson and councillors, officials and Kichu clan representatives from Mokokchung village, an update stated.

In his address, the ADC highlighted the aspirational toilet as a step towards improving urban sanitation and public health, which reflects the objectives of SBM U 2.0 in ensuring sustainable and accessible facilities for citizens.

Walling expressed gratitude to the Kichu clan of Mokokchung village for donating the land on which the aspirational toilet has been constructed.

A dedicatory prayer for the facility was offered by Pastor Monglir of MTBA.

The MMC has appealed to the public to make proper use of the infrastructure and help maintain it responsibly.

“With this initiative, MMC officials reiterated its commitment to enhancing sanitation infrastructure and promoting the vision of a clean and healthy Mokokchung town,” it stated.
