MOKOKCHUNG — The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) has extended support for the Nagaland Government Teachers’ Association (NGTA), which represents mainstreamed teachers from the 2010 and 2013 batches of the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) schemes.
In a press statement, AKM declared its solidarity with the NGTA and extended solidarity to a joint representation submitted by the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) and the Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation (ENSF) to the Chief Secretary of the Government of Nagaland.
The representation rejects the official minutes of a meeting held on February 27, addressing the teachers' long-standing grievances.
The AKM commended the state government for organising discussions on the teaching community's concerns; however, it echoed the NSF and ENSF's criticism that the circulated minutes lack any clear or firm commitment regarding the teachers' salary placement after the Samagra Shiksha 2.0 scheme ends.

The affected teachers were integrated into the state education cadre following a cabinet decision in 2022, entitling them to full service benefits equivalent to those of regular state government employees, the AKM stated.
The AKM highlighted growing anxiety among the affected teachers due to persistent uncertainty over their post-scheme salary structure.
This ambiguity, AKM warned, risks escalating protests and could severely disrupt academic activities in government schools statewide, ultimately harming students' education and future prospects.
In light of this, AKM—aligning itself with the NGTA (2010 and 2013 batches), NSF, and ENSF—called on the Nagaland government to act swiftly with urgent, corrective, and time-bound measures.
The AKM also demanded a clear written assurance that addresses the mainstreamed teachers' concerns and rebuilds trust within the education sector.
Ao Kaketshir Mungdang further expressed hope that the state government will respond responsibly and promptly in the interest of justice, educational stability, and the broader welfare of Nagaland's student community.
