DIMAPUR — The Angami Students' Union (ASU) has expressed outrage and condemned the alleged sexual assault of a minor by a church youth leader reportedly from Kohima, describing it as a grave violation of human rights and an assault on the innocence of a minor.
In a statement, the union stated that such an act cannot be tolerated under any circumstances and reiterated that such predatory behaviour is entirely foreign to traditional values.
The ASU stated that it was deeply alarming that such vices had penetrated the core of Naga society and reached the leadership of the church. The union maintained that it has a zero-tolerance policy against any form of exploitation and would not tolerate actions that strip young people of their dignity.
