AIDA completes its 2026 flood relief response across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland, reaching up to 48,000 people with relief and educational support.
DIMAPUR — The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) has completed its 2026 flood relief response, reaching six districts across Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland and providing relief materials to flood-affected families and educational support to children.
In a press release, AIDA stated that the response, supported by Amazon, Nestlé and Bosco Gram Vikas Kendra, was launched following widespread flooding, flash floods and landslides during the 2026 monsoon.
AIDA began relief distribution in Dhemaji, Assam, on July 7, providing 150 hygiene kits and 150 dry ration kits to families in Shantipur and Raba Khatani.
On July 8, another 200 hygiene kits and 200 dry ration kits were distributed in Poosa and Pitapool NEEPCO colony in Yazali, Lower Subansiri district, Arunachal Pradesh.
In August, the operation expanded to Sivasagar and Jorhat in Assam and Mon district in Nagaland.
Relief materials for 2,000 families were delivered to Sivasagar’s District Commissioner’s Relief Distribution Centre on August 7, followed by 300 hygiene kits and 200 ration kits distributed in Bhadhara, Kikhipam and Nigo on August 11.

In Jorhat, 2,000 relief kits reached the District Commissioner’s Relief Distribution Centre on August 10, while 1,000 relief kits were delivered to the Konyak Union Office and Don Bosco School in Mon on August 15.
The response was extended to Charaideo, Assam, on September 1, with 1,000 household kits and 2,000 ration kits distributed to affected families.
AIDA also provided educational assistance to children whose schooling was disrupted by the floods. It distributed 1,000 educational kits across 10 schools in Jorhat on September 2 and another 1,000 kits across 15 schools in Sivasagar on September 3.
The organisation said the response comprised approximately 9,200 family relief kits, representing an estimated outreach of up to 46,000 people based on an average household size of five.
Including the 2,000 students who received educational kits, the total estimated outreach was up to 48,000 people, subject to possible overlap among beneficiaries.
The response covered Dhemaji, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Charaideo in Assam; Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh; and Mon in Nagaland.
AIDA said the operation was made possible through the support of district administrations, Civil Defence authorities, community organisations, local representatives and volunteers.
While the emergency relief phase has been completed, AIDA noted that many affected families would require longer-term recovery support due to damage to homes, loss of crops, livestock, food stocks and other belongings.
