DIMAPUR — Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports, S Keoshu Yimkhiung, attended a consultative meeting of the Rhimoru Arih-Ako Welfare Society in the Shamator district and handed over a vehicle to the society for official use and emergency services.
During his address, the advisor acknowledged the challenges faced by them and stated the importance of making efforts to bring change to the labour community in the Shamator district, noting that every labourer is a grassroots-level worker.
He also highlighted the key features of schemes and benefits available for registered labourers, adding that the labour union is responsible for the growth of any society.
According to a DIPR report, to uplift the labour community, the advisor handed over a Maruti Gypsy to the labour society to mitigate the hardships they face. The Shamator district does not have a labour office, requiring workers to travel to the Tuensang district for all work related to the society.
