32 teams compete at inaugural Nagaland Pickleball Open
Winners of the first Nagaland Pickleball Open and others at Aiko Greens, Dimapur, on July 13.


DIMAPUR — The Nagaland Pickleball Association (NPA), in collaboration with the Indian Pickleball Association (IPA), conducted the first Nagaland Pickleball Open, a PWR 50 sanctioned event, held on July 13 at Aiko Greens, Dimapur.


According to an update, the tournament marked the first official pickleball event in Nagaland, drawing 32 teams from across the state and neighbouring regions.


In the Men’s Doubles Open, the winners were Megotsolie Khate and Vilasier Khate, who were awarded INR 15,000 cash and the champions’ trophy. The runners-up, Dilip Mohanty and Abyan Zaffar, received INR 10,000 and runners-up trophies.


In the Mixed Doubles, the winners were Dilip Mohanty and Nazneen Rahman, who received INR 10,000 cash and trophies.

Nagaland to host first-ever state Pickleball open


“The tournament was met with an enthusiastic crowd as numerous spectators gathered to witness this historic sporting occasion. The PWR 50 designation elevated the event’s national importance and further legitimised Nagaland’s presence on the Indian pickleball map,” it read.


The NPA expressed its gratitude to the Assam Pickleball Association for their ongoing support and partnership and to Dilip Mohanty, who served as the tournament director.
