Zunheboto district observes World Malaria Day with health screenings, awareness campaigns, and discussions on eliminating the disease.

DIMAPUR — The District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme observed World Malaria Day on the theme “Drive to end malaria: Now we can, now we must” across all health units in the Zunheboto district.
At the district headquarters, the programme was held at the Chief Medical Officer's conference hall, chaired by District Education Officer Unice.
According to an update, Deputy Commissioner of Zunheboto, Dharam Raj, attended as the special guest and urged all stakeholders to actively contribute towards the elimination of malaria and other vector-borne diseases in the district.

Dr. Esther Kath, District Programme Officer, presented a brief report highlighting the status of malaria and other vector-borne diseases prevalent in the district, along with ongoing control and prevention measures.
Following the main event, a meeting of the District Task Force for Malaria Elimination was convened and chaired by the deputy commissioner to review strategies and strengthen coordinated efforts for malaria elimination.
In the lead-up to World Malaria Day, the department conducted monitoring and supervision activities from April 20 to the 24th, focusing on high-malaria-burden blocks, health units, and villages through house-to-house visits, awareness campaigns, and mass screening.
