Zunheboto District Level Coordination Committee declares 11 institutions and three villages tobacco-free during its quarterly meeting chaired by DC Dharam Raj.

DIMAPUR — The 3rd quarterly District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) meeting was held on November 27 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Hall, Zunheboto, under the chairmanship of Dharam Raj, deputy commissioner (DC) of Zunheboto.
According to a DIPR report, during the meeting, 11 institutions, three villages, and one health and wellness centre were declared tobacco-free.
The chairman urged the Zunheboto Town Council (ZTC) to work on issuing Tobacco Vendor Licences and to geo-tag all vendors. He further suggested that schools may engage volunteers to paint anti-tobacco messages or cartoons at school entrances or within the school premises. Additionally, the chairman stated that the success or saturation achieved in schools under NTPC should be properly recorded.
The establishments declared Tobacco-Free included St. Thomas School, VK Town; Government Primary School (GPS) Vishepu; GPS Asukhomi; GPS VK; Government High School (GHS) Xamunuboto Kivikhu; GHS Xuviu; GHS Asuloto Asukhomi; GHS VK; Nagaland University, Lumami; Kheloshe Polytechnic Atoizu (KPA); Phoenix Taekwondo Academy; Rotomi village; Khrimtomi village; Akuhaito town; and Rotomi Village Health and Wellness Centre.
