Zeliangrong United Front observed Martyr’s Day at Dilung headquarters, honouring cadres who sacrificed their lives for the Zeliangrong community.

DIMAPUR — The Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) has observed martyr’s day at its council headquarters, Dilung, on Thursday to honour and remember the cadres who laid down their lives for the cause of the Zeliangrong people.
An update from ZUF stated that the event was marked with solemn remembrance, paying tribute to those who made the supreme sacrifice for the rights, identity and future of the Zeliangrong community.
The programme, which commenced at 7 am, was moderated by Brigadier MK Ajona Kamei, GSO-1 of the Zeliangrong Tiger Force, while the opening prayer was led by the home secretary, followed by the reading of a condolence message from the Zeliangrong Tiger Force.

A moment of silence was also observed in memory of the martyrs, after which the martyrs’ list was pronounced by Brigadier MK Ajona Kamei. Floral tributes were also offered to the martyrs as a mark of respect, followed by a gun salute performed in honour of the fallen heroes.
A keynote address was delivered by (retired) General Jenchui Kamei, chairman of ZUF, who paid homage to the martyrs and reiterated commitment to the ideals and aspirations for which they sacrificed their lives.
The programme concluded with a closing prayer led by PO Meidinlung Kamei, RTO of ZUF Ashalu region.
On the occasion, ZUF has called upon the people to remember the sacrifices of the martyrs and to continue working collectively for unity, peace and political aspiration of the Zeliangrong community.
