Security forces seized over 2 kg of contraband tablets and brown sugar from a Mahindra Thar during checking in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district.

IMPHAL — Security forces recovered more than 2 kg of contraband tablets and 0.592 kg of brown sugar from a Mahindra Thar vehicle during checking in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district on March 4.
During checking of the vehicle, security forces recovered 2.33 kg of tablets, brown sugar, one mobile phone, one Aadhar card and the RC of the Thar vehicle, police said in a statement.
It stated that further investigation is underway.

On January 18 this year, Manipur Police arrested an individual along with 16.6 Kg of opium from the Behiang side along Tiddim Road under Singngat Police Station in Churachandpur district.
In one of the biggest seizures, the security forces arrested four drug dealers along with 12,50,000 tablets weighing around 147 kg in Manipur’s Jiribam district, which borders Assam, in December last year.
