ZLSU concludes Native Village Tour in Peren

  • DIMAPUR — The Zeliang Students' Union Nagaland (ZLSU) has concluded its Native Village Tour, during which the union delegation visited several villages in Peren district, engaging directly with local communities to promote unity and gain a deeper understanding of grassroots issues.

  • In a press release, the ZLSU stated that the team was unable to visit Nkio, Lalong and Nzauna villages owing to adverse road conditions.

  • Further, it stated that Poilwa and Besuimpiu villages could not be visited due to unavoidable circumstances, and the union expressed sincere apologies for these omissions, assuring that efforts would be made to include these villages in future visits.

  • The union appealed to all villagers to participate in preserving the rich biodiversity of the district. The ZLSU also voiced concern over the misuse of the Right to Information (RTI) Act by individuals with vested interests, urging its responsible and ethical application.

  • Furthermore, the Union encouraged the general public to make full use of the various government educational institutions and training centres established in the district, emphasising the importance of education and skill development in driving community progress.

  • It was mentioned that throughout the outreach, the ZLSU held discussions with village chairmen, school management committee members, youth, women and student leaders. The union has taken note of the grievances shared by the villagers and assures that it will make efforts to press the government for their early resolution.
