Job fair, exp career held at Don Bosco College Kohima

  • DIMAPUR — The Ministry of Labour and Employment, Office of the Sub-Regional Employment Officer, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST Kohima and Differently Abled Dimapur, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Placement Network Dimapur, organised a job fair and career expo on April 26 at Don Bosco College, Kohima.

  • According to an update, a total footfall of 476 was recorded at the event. The prominent hiring companies were Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd, Chilibreeze, SBI Life, MRF, Seyie Auto, Employment Providers, BBQ Nation, and P Recruiting Agency. A total of 94 job seekers were shortlisted by the hiring companies.

  • In the career expo programme, universities, coaching institutes and career consultant agencies such as MIT Shillong, Flywayy Institute of Airhostess Training, Infinite Learning Centre Kohima, PLS Auto Shell Industries Pvt. Ltd, State Institute of Hotel Management Dimapur, Assam Don Bosco University, Study Next, Assam Rifles, Indian Army Rangapahar, and Indian Air Force Guwahati participated and showcased educational courses and career opportunities to the visiting students.

  • The Indian Army and Indian Air Force distributed brochures and provided pre-recruitment counselling relating to the Agniveer Vayu scheme and Indian Army and Indian Air Force recruitments.

  • Earlier, the event's inaugural programme was led by Zevisanuo Khate, coordinator of the career guidance and placement cell, Don Bosco College Kohima.

  • The invocation was pronounced by Rev. Fr. Dr. Xavier Mattam SDB, rector, DB Campus Kohima, followed by the welcome address by Rev. Fr. Dr. Tious Varghese SDB, principal, DBC Kohima.

  • The keynote address was delivered by Rev. Fr. Roy George SDB, executive director, AIDA Dimapur, and Rev. Fr. Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, national director, DBJPN India. The event briefing was given by RS Siipuni Pou, sub-regional employment officer, National Career Service Centre for SC/ST Kohima.
