DIMAPUR — Zeliang Students' Union Dimapur (ZSUD) organised a felicitation programme to honour the meritorious students who cleared the HSLC and HSSLC examinations 2025 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) at the conference hall of Hotel Saramati in Dimapur on May 24.
Addressing the gathering, special guest Rangumbuing Nsarangbe, NBSE secretary, termed the day a “monumental achievement” for the students and underlined the power of education and the pivotal role of youth in shaping society, according to a press release.
Nsarangbe acknowledged the role of parents, teachers, and mentors in the students’ success and advised students to choose careers that align with their interests, abilities, and market relevance.
He noted that many students choose the science stream under pressure but later change courses. He said parents should understand their children’s interests and allow them to follow their passion, rather than imposing their own views.

Highlighting the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Nsarangbe noted that the policy advocates holistic development. He added that while academic excellence is vital, life skills are equally important.
Emphasising the importance of resilience in today’s competitive and AI-driven world, guest speaker Wiridin Newmai, SDO (C) Dimapur, stated that in the age of artificial intelligence, skills will speak louder than marks, urging students to stay grounded in reality and build their lives with consistency.
He encouraged students to pursue careers relevant to the needs of the state and to use modern technology wisely, noting that information is now at their fingertips.
