NSCN/GPRN Yung Aung group claims joint attack with RPF on 21 Assam Rifles near Nampong in Arunachal Pradesh
DIMAPUR — The NSCN/GPRN (Yung Aung group) has claimed that its combined tactical team with the Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) carried out a joint military operation against the 21 Assam Rifles near Nampong in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday morning.
In a statement issued, the group said that the operation was conducted at around 6.30 am and claimed that one Assam Rifles soldier was killed and several others critically injured during the engagement.
It also claimed that its joint team recovered an AK assault rifle from the site.
The group described the operation as being in line with the groups’ “previously established understanding and commitment” to unite against what they termed foreign occupational forces and to defend their sovereignty.
