Western Naga Youth Front condemns the reported armed threat at Jalukie ‘B’ village and urges a swift, impartial investigation and legal action.
DIMAPUR — The Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) has condemned the reported armed threat incident at Jalukie ‘B’ village in Peren district on September 20, in which unidentified armed individuals allegedly appeared at the residence of R John Zeliang, president of the Zeliangrong Youth Front Nagaland (ZYFN).
In a statement, the WNYF said the alleged display of firearms and intimidation posed a serious threat to public peace, security and the rule of law.
It asserted that armed intimidation, threats or coercion should not be used to settle differences or create fear among the people.

The organisation urged the competent authorities to conduct a swift, impartial and thorough investigation, identify those responsible and take legal action against them.
The WNYF expressed solidarity with Zeliang, his family and the Zeliangrong community, while appealing to all sections of society to exercise restraint and avoid actions or statements that could escalate tensions.
It further stated that peace and peaceful coexistence in Nagaland should be protected, and reiterated its opposition to gun culture, criminal intimidation and actions that threaten the safety and dignity of the people.
