DIMAPUR — The ongoing construction of roads under NH-129A (Package II) in the Jalukie area of Peren district, being executed by M/s AM Infrastructure Projects Pvt. Ltd. and RN Infra Project (JV), has come under scrutiny over the slow pace of work and alleged poor quality execution.
In a press release, the Jalukie Pumling Youth Organisation (JPYO) stated that during a recent inspection of the project site, the organisation observed that drainage works within village areas remain incomplete in several stretches.
It also noted that, in locations where drains have already been constructed, the quality of workmanship was found to be unsatisfactory.
According to JPYO, several drains have been left open, resulting in blockages and waterlogging, posing serious risks to commuters and local residents.
The organisation further stated that shoulder filling with aggregate chips remains incomplete in many sections and has not been carried out in accordance with the prescribed work order.

The youth body also pointed out that several roadside plantations need replacement, as many saplings have already withered.
Despite multiple intimations to the concerned authorities and contractors, the delay in completion has raised concerns regarding the pace of execution and the seriousness of the contractors in completing the project within the stipulated timeframe, it stated.
In light of these issues, JPYO has strongly urged the contractors and all concerned parties to improve the quality of work and expedite the remaining construction without further delay.
The organisation affirmed that it would continue monitoring the project to ensure that the works are completed as per approved specifications without compromising public safety and community welfare.
JPYO also stated that it would conduct follow-up inspections to ensure timely and proper completion of the project.
