It was mentioned that, like most Naga traditional festivals, Yinglong Pangmoo is a festival of thanksgiving, celebrated after the completion of all agricultural activities. It is observed when all granaries are filled with bountiful harvests and is marked with a strong sense of godliness and thanksgiving.
The literal term 'Pang' means Autumn and 'Moo' means festival. It is celebrated for six days, with each day having its own significance.
