State Election Commission Nagaland released party list and election symbols for Pfutsero Town Council Ward 11 (Zhipa) poll.

DIJMAPUR — The State Election Commission (SEC), Nagaland, in exercise of the provision under Section 31(1) of the Nagaland Municipal Act 2023, has adopted the list of political parties in principle.
The decision specifies the names of recognised national and state parties, registered unrecognised parties, and the list of free symbols issued in pursuance of paragraph 17 of the Election Symbol (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968, as amended by the Election Commission of India from time to time.
In pursuance of Rule 19 of Part III of the Nagaland Municipal Election Rules, 2023, the commission has notified that the national parties, state parties and their respective symbols, along with free symbols, will be adopted for the conduct of the election to Ward 11 (Zhipa) of Pfutsero Town Council (PTC).

Table I provides the names of the national parties and the symbols reserved for them. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has the symbol of a broom, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has an elephant, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has a lotus, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI (M)) has a hammer, sickle and star, the Indian National Congress (INC) has a hand, and the National People’s Party (NPP) has a book.
Table II contains the state parties of Nagaland and their reserved symbols. The Naga Peoples Front (NPF) has cock, the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) has globe, the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) has helicopter, and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) has clock.
Table III lists the registered unrecognised political parties. The Nagaland Congress (TMC) has a dao, the Rising People’s Party (RPP) has a pen nib with seven rays, and the United Naga Democratic Party (UNDP) has a hat.
Table IV specifies the list of free symbols. As per the provision, if a state party recognised in one state is granted concession for using its reserved symbol in another state under Para 10 of the Election Symbols (Reservation and Allotment) Order, 1968, the nomination of candidates set up by that party in such other state will require the subscription of one elector of the ward.
