Yanthamo Yan Eloe Ekhung celebrates its Silver Jubilee in Wokha, highlighting the roles and responsibilities of women.

WOKHA — The Yanthamo Yan Eloe Ekhung (YYEE) celebrated its Silver Jubilee under the theme “Eloe jiang ejan elhi” (The roles and responsibilities of women) at the Yanthamo Village Community Hall on Wednesday.
In her keynote address, President of the Lotha Eloe Hoho, Thungbeni N Ngullie, who was the guest speaker of the jubilee, underscored the role of women in family, church, and society.
Reminding the gathering that women are custodians of moral values and pillars of progress, she called for unity, forgiveness, and reconciliation. She also urged them to embrace responsibilities with wisdom and integrity.
Former president of YYEE, Nrusali Odyuo, presented a brief history of the Union, while Zanabeni Ngullie, Vice President of the union, introduced the office bearers from 2001 to 2026, and T Thungbeni Ezung presented the general report of the union, outlining its achievements and milestones.
A moment of silence was observed in memory of the departed pioneers and leaders.
Chaired by YYEE President N Zuthunglo Ngullie, the jubilee celebration also saw a cultural performance by Yanthamo Cultural Club and a goodwill message from B. Chumbeni Ngullie, on behalf of the Yanthamo Wokha Town Eloe Ekhung.
