DIMAPUR — A one-day workshop on ‘DigiLocker (user experience for government application) and eProcurement & eTendering system’ was held at the Directorate of Information Technology & Communication, Kohima, on Friday.
According to a DIPR report, the workshop was organised by the Department of Information Technology & Communication, in collaboration with the National e-Governance Division (NeGD), Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY).
Speaking at the inaugural programme as the special guest, Advisor for Information Technology & Communications (IT&C), Economics & Statistics and Evaluation, Sethrongkyu Sangtam stated that DigiLocker and the eProcurement system are two critical pillars of digital governance for a transparent and efficient administration.

The advisor thanked MeitY for its continued guidance and collaborations with the state government, which have been instrumental in supporting Nagaland's integration into the broader digital India framework.
Sethrongkyu also acknowledged MeitY for conducting the workshop, highlighting it as an example of cooperative federalism driving digital transformation.
While launching e-services for birth and death certificates, CMHIS cards, and government ID cards on DigiLocker, he stated that these services linked to DigiLocker will allow citizens to securely access their official documents online, thereby strengthening trust in public service delivery.
Commissioner & Secretary, IT&C, Arenla Jamir, in her speech, said that the workshop is an important milestone for the state in terms of enhancing awareness and also launching various e-services, all integrated with DigiLocker for a secure and paperless exchange.
She said DigiLocker is not just a repository but a symbol of efficiency, transparency, and citizen empowerment. Similarly, the eProcurement system has the potential to bring competitiveness and accountability to public procurement.
Highlighting that these tools are essential in a state like Nagaland, Jamir encouraged all the participants and officials to engage actively in the workshop and to adopt these digital platforms in their respective departments.
This, she said, will enhance efficiency and advance Nagaland's digital transformation, which will directly shape the manner in which citizens experience eGovernance in the state.
In his introductory address, Director of IT&C, Sabou Yashu, said that DigiLocker is a platform which enables citizen access to official documents anytime, anywhere, and that the workshop was aimed at empowering citizens and streamlining government processes, promoting transparency and financial efficiency.
Additional Director, NeGD, MeitY, Ajay Kumar, assured support for the integration, saying it will benefit sectors like education, MSMEs, and electricity boards by reducing paperwork and enhancing governance.
The workshop was attended by senior officers of various government departments and officials of MeitY.
Additional Director, IT&C, Asono Mor, proposed the vote of thanks.
