A woman from Agri Farm Colony in Kohima was assaulted and robbed on October 24. A Police investigation is underway.

KOHIMA — A woman resident of Agri Farm Colony in Kohima was assaulted and robbed by an unidentified miscreant on the night of October 24 at around 9:30 pm.
According to a source, the incident occurred while the victim was returning home from a programme at Faith Harvest Church. As she was walking through Jail Colony, she noticed a man following her but did not suspect anything. The assault took place when she was descending a flight of stairs near the Jail Colony traffic point, along a dark alley leading to her residence.
The attacker reportedly struck her on the head with a stick from behind and snatched her bag before fleeing the scene. Hearing her scream, a neighbour rushed out and ran after the attacker but could not catch up with him.
Her bag was later found abandoned along a roadside at PR Hill Colony. While most of her belongings were intact, a small amount of cash from her purse was missing. The exact amount was not disclosed.

SIT to probe mysterious death of 22-year-old woman in Kohima
A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at South Police Station on October 25. The victim was taken for medical examination and was reported to be in stable condition, with bruising and swelling on her head where she was struck.
It was further informed that CCTV footage purportedly showing the suspect walking in the area that night is being circulated on social media. Police investigation into the case is underway.
