SIT to probe mysterious death of 22-year-old woman in Kohima

KOHIMA — Kohima Police have registered an FIR in connection with the mysterious death of a 22-year-old woman whose body was found near her residence in Kohima on the morning of October 25.

Official sources informed that a case has been registered and an investigation is underway. However, the police refrained from providing further details, citing that the matter is under investigation.

The Kohima Police have also constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case.

According to reports, the 22-year-old woman, an avid basketball player, had gone out to play on Friday evening but did not return home that night.

The following morning, passersby reportedly found her body covered with firewood and a sack beside a well near her residence at Old Ministers’ Hill colony.

Police were immediately informed and rushed to the spot. After a few hours, a forensic team from Dimapur arrived and conducted an examination before the body was handed over to the family members.
