DIMAPUR — The Yimkhiung Tribal Council (YTC) has announced a ban on all forms of taxation imposed by Naga national groups on local businessmen and entrepreneurs within Yimkhiung jurisdiction.
In an order issued on Monday, the council stated that the federal council of the Yimkhiung tribe had resolved to prohibit any Naga political groups from levying taxes on Yimkhiung entrepreneurs “with immediate effect.”
The YTC, headquartered in Shamator, serves as the apex tribal body of the Yimkhiung community.
The decision, it said, was taken “to encourage and uplift the local entrepreneurs.”
