Woman arrested for allegedly revealing minor victim's identity in Lengrijan POCSO case, later released on bail by court

DIMAPUR — A woman was arrested on June 8 for allegedly disclosing the identity of a minor victim in the Lengrijan POCSO case, according to the Dimapur Eastern Nagaland Students' Union (DENSU).
The union stated that Bendangjungla, a government school teacher and sister of accused Watimeren, aka O Wati, was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) under Section 23 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to DENSU, said section of the POCSO Act strictly prohibits any form of media or public reporting that reveals the identity of a child victim, witness or offender in a sexual offence case.

The union further informed that Bendangjungla applied for bail on June 9 and was subsequently released on bail.
Dimapur Police have so far arrested three other persons in the case: 43-year-old Watimeren, his cousin Tsuktimongba (37), and Akangkokba Ao (68).
