Wokha district to undertake special drive for digitisation of birth and death certificates.

DIMAPUR — The office of the District Economics and Statistics Officer and the District Registrar of Births and Deaths, Wokha, will undertake a special drive for the online registration and digitisation of old manual birth and death certificates across all registration units in the district from February 5 to the 20th.
A DIPR report stated that the initiative aims to modernise record-keeping, improve accessibility and strengthen the reliability of vital statistics.
In this regard, all the village registrars have been instructed to ensure effective implementation of the drive in their respective jurisdictions.

Registrars are also directed to complete the online registration and digitisation of all old manual birth and death certificates. They are also asked to submit daily progress reports to Lothungbeni Humtsoe, field investigator, via mobile number 8256982892.
The district office has urged all registrars to take necessary steps to ensure the success of the drive, emphasising that the initiative is being undertaken in the larger public interest.
