DIMAPUR — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, has announced that a district-level awareness campaign on the settlement of unclaimed deposits will be held on Friday, December 5, at 1:30 pm in the conference hall of the DC office.

The campaign is being organised as part of a nationwide initiative launched by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the State Bank of India (SBI) to facilitate the efficient and timely settlement of unclaimed financial assets such as deposits, dividends, interest warrants, pensions, and related entitlements, stated a DIPR report.

The objective is to ensure that rightful claimants, whether customers, nominees, or legal heirs, are able to access and recover their funds with ease.

The meeting will be attended by key stakeholders, including village council chairmen of concerned villages under Wokha district, representatives from Wokha Town Council, representatives from GBs Union, Wokha, and representatives from GBs Association, Wokha.

The campaign is expected to raise awareness at the grassroots level and streamline the process of reclaiming unclaimed financial assets, thereby empowering citizens and strengthening financial inclusion across the district.
