Wokha district is preparing for the October Banana Festival, with authorities compiling updated details of accommodations to boost tourism and ensure facilities for visitors.

WOKHA — In anticipation of the upcoming Banana Festival, tentatively scheduled for October, the additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Wokha has issued a directive to local authorities to compile and submit updated details of accommodations within their jurisdiction.
The official communication, addressed to the chairperson and ward councillors of Wokha Town Council as well as the village council chairman of Wokha and Longsa villages, seeks identification of all operational homestays, rest houses, hotels, and guest houses.
The initiative aims to ensure proper facilities for visitors and promote tourism development in the district.

Authorities have been instructed to collect the required information using the prescribed Format II and submit it to the ADC’s office by September 23. Alternatively, soft copies may be sent via WhatsApp to Sangmou Khiamniungan, EAC Wokha, at 8837381121.
The Banana Festival, known for celebrating local produce and culture, is expected to draw significant footfall. The updated accommodation list will serve as an official reference and help provide accurate details to guests and tourists.
