DIMAPUR — The District Task Force for Immunisation (DTFI) convened a meeting at the Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) conference hall in Wokha on Tuesday to review preparations for the upcoming National Immunisation Day (NID) Pulse Polio campaign.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting was chaired by DC and Chairman of the District Task Force for Immunisation K Mhathung Tsanglao.
In his address, the DC highlighted the need to create widespread awareness so that citizens are well informed and advised about the immunisation drive. District Programme Officer Thungchanbeni Patton also briefed the meeting on the importance of the Pulse Polio Immunisation programme and the strategies for effective awareness creation.
The Pulse Polio campaign in the Wokha district will be conducted from June 28 to the 30th, targeting children aged 0 to 5 years. The plan aims to achieve 80 per cent coverage on the first day, followed by door-to-door visits over the next two days to ensure 100 per cent coverage across the district.

Each booth will be monitored by supervisors, while two mobile teams, one in Wokha town and another in Bhandari town, will provide additional coverage. The teams will also operate at five transit points to reach areas with a high inflow of people.
The DC appealed to all communities, citizens, and line departments to extend full support during the immunisation drive to ensure its success.
