- DIMAPUR — The Nagaland State Disaster
Management Authority (NSDMA) has reported widespread damage across multiple
districts following heavy monsoon rains, landslides, and windstorms that have
begun to affect infrastructure, homes, and agricultural land across the state.
- According to a press release issued on Tuesday, incidents of
land sinking, road blockages, collapsed retaining walls, and damaged paddy and
maize fields have been reported from various parts of Nagaland. The authority
has appealed to all District Disaster Management Authorities (DDMAs) to remain
on high alert during the ongoing monsoon season.

- In Kohima district, a major land sinking was reported near
Kisama Heritage Village, along with a large landslide on the
Kigwema–Mima–Chakhabama road. A significant retaining wall also collapsed in
Phesama village.
- Tuensang district reported a landslide in Phingjang Ward and
road blockages on Tobu Road below Tuensang village. Additionally, a windstorm
damaged an Anganwadi Centre in Phir Ahir village under Longkhim sub-division.

- In Kiphire district, multiple landslides caused road
blockages between Khongiri and Mimi villages, and at Luther and Singrep
villages. Landslides were also reported between 02 Junction and Pungro Town.
Agricultural fields in Moya and Pungro villages suffered damage due to the
heavy rains.
