- DIMAPUR — The
Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) has issued another alert,
warning of potential flash flood risk in low-lying areas due to anticipated
heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty
winds in several locations across Nagaland.
- “Surface runoff/inundation may occur at some fully saturated
soils & low-lying areas due to the expected rainfall occurrence,” stated a
notice issued on Sunday.
- Subsequently, it has directed all District Disaster
Management Authorities (DDMAs) to remain vigilant and proactive.

- “All District Disaster Management Authorities are advised to
stay alert and issue necessary advisories to avoid mishaps in their respective
districts.
- “In case of emergency, citizens may call the State Emergency
Operations Centre: 1070 (toll free number); 112 (ERSS extension for Disaster
Management); and 0370-2291120/22,” it informed.
