‘The White House Founders Museum – The Road to Liberty’ exhibition was inaugurated at RCEMPA, Kohima, commemorating the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
KOHIMA — ‘The White House Founders Museum – The Road to Liberty,’ an exhibition presented by the American Centre, Kolkata, was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Regional Centre of Excellence for Music and Performing Arts (RCEMPA), Jotsoma, Kohima district, by Advisor to the Chief Minister and Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha.
The exhibition, hosted by the Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA), commemorates the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
Addressing the gathering, Metha thanked the American Centre for bringing the exhibition to Kohima and providing people, particularly students and young people, an opportunity to learn about America's journey towards freedom and democracy.
He also congratulated TaFMA for partnering with the American Centre to host the exhibition.
Highlighting the historical ties between the people of America and the Nagas, Metha said the relationship extends beyond history to include the introduction of Christianity, education and development.

He noted that Nagaland has benefited from several fruitful partnerships and collaborations with the United States over the years and expressed hope that the exhibition would further strengthen these ties.
Encouraging the youth, Metha urged them to build networks with international friends and communities, saying such connections would help them grow as individuals and as a society while contributing to humanity and the strengthening of democracy.
He further said Nagaland is increasingly being recognised for its achievements in fields such as music and sports.
Stressing the importance of nurturing young talent, he said the state must continue to tell its story through its emerging artists, athletes and other achievers to realise its aspirations and fulfil its dreams.
The programme also featured a special musical performance by Lucy Arila, an upcoming artiste from Nagaland.
