DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) on Tuesday announced that it has expelled Bijay Das and his family from all Sumi-inhabited areas of the Western region due to their alleged involvement in a grievous incident on September 7 at Ghoshito village, where a local resident was physically assaulted.
In a press release, the WSYF stated that Bijay Das, son of Judhisthir Das, was strictly ordered to vacate and leave the region on or before the September 13, within which period he must also compensate for the damages and medical expenses of the victim.
“Failure to comply with this directive, whether by him or his accomplices, will absolve WSYF of any responsibility for any untoward consequences that may follow.

“Further, any individual, group, or organisation found providing shelter, protection, or assistance to the expelled individuals shall be deemed complicit in his actions and will invite stern and irreversible action from the WSYF,” it stated.
Village authorities in the western Sumi region have been directed to remain vigilant and prevent the expelled family from seeking refuge within their jurisdiction.
