DIMAPUR — The Western Sumi Youth Front (WSYF) and the Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) have opposed the formation of a youth body named the Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF), warning that no such organisation will be permitted to operate within their respective jurisdictions.

The WSYF and CYO held a joint coordination meeting on Saturday at WSH Hiyam, Chekiye village, during which the two youth bodies discussed the pressing issues facing society, particularly the growth of numerous new organisations in current Naga society.

Stating that recently a group of like-minded persons organised a meeting with the intent to form WNYF, the two youth bodies highlighted the joint resolution made by the Chakhroma Public Organisation and Western Sumi Hoho on July 17, 2020, as well as the joint resolution adopted by the Chakhroma Youth Organisation and Western Sumi Youth Front on October 23, 2024.

The two youth bodies expressed strong opposition to the efforts of certain persons intending to form WNYF, which aims to cover the three districts of Dimapur, Chümoukedima, and Niuland.

They resolved not to allow any group of persons to form such an organisation or youth body within their jurisdiction.

They further directed all members not to participate in or affiliate with the formation of such an organisation, warning that stern action will be taken against defaulters. They also requested all members to respect and uphold the resolutions adopted by both parent bodies, as well as by the Chakhroma Youth Organisation and Western Sumi Youth Front.
