DIMAPUR — The Western Sümi Students' Union (WSSU), on Wednesday, extended relief assistance to flood-affected colonies in Dimapur town, following the unprecedented heavy rainfall experienced over the past week.

In a press release, the WSSU stated that the rainfall, coupled with poor drainage systems and inadequate urban planning, led to severe flooding across several areas, causing immense hardship to numerous households.

As part of its outreach, the Union distributed essential relief materials to two of the affected colonies—Vilhume and SM. The materials were handed over to the respective GBs and councils of both colonies to ensure fair and need-based distribution among the affected residents.

WSSU expressed its heartfelt gratitude to all the generous donors who responded to the Union's call for aid and made this effort possible.
