DIMAPUR — Following reports of multiple landslides along National Highway 29 near the old Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) dumping site, movement of heavy vehicles has been restricted until further notice.
According to an order issued by the deputy commissioner of Kohima on Wednesday, all six-wheeler heavy vehicles must now take the alternative route via Peducha Bridge–Tsiesema (10 Mile) with immediate effect.
Light motor vehicles (LMVs) bound for other districts have also been advised to follow the same alternate route for safety and traffic regulation purposes.
The DC has urged all concerned to comply with the directive until the affected stretch of NH-29 is declared safe for regular traffic movement.
