DIMAPUR — The Western Chakhesang Youth Organisation (WCYO) has condemned recent remarks made by the President of the Dimapur District Auto Drivers Union (DDADU) in relation to the June 15 molestation case.
In a press release issued on Friday, WCYO expressed concern that the DDADU President shared information with the media based on what it described as “one-sided knowledge from secondary sources,” even as the police investigation is still ongoing.
According to WCYO, the DDADU President’s statements, made during a press conference, included unverified claims that it said have misrepresented the incident and cast the victim in a negative light. It further objected to DDADU conducting what it called an internal inquiry into the matter, despite the accused being in judicial custody and the case being under active investigation by the police.

“The information shared by the DDADU President holds no truth and has put the already traumatised victim in a poor light in the mass media,” the WCYO stated.
The organisation asserted that such actions have not only compromised the integrity of the investigation but have also caused further harm to the victim. In its statement, WCYO demanded an unconditional public apology from the DDADU President through the media, acknowledging the harm caused by the remarks.
“Failure to comply with this demand will compel WCYO to take necessary measures to safeguard the dignity of the victim and ensure that justice is served,” it added.
